The current President of Football Association, Prince William has marked racist abuse pointed at footballers “despicable” and declared it “must stop now” after Marcus Rashford, Manchester United’s striker became the most current player to face.
The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, addressed out on Sunday after the Professional Footballers’ Association blamed social media groups for not coveting the readiness to clench the racist content.
Reece James, Chelsea defender, West Brom’s Romaine Sawyers, and Marcus Rashford’s teammates Anthony Martial, and Axel Tuanzebe all have undergone online racist abuse in the preceding weeks.
It prompts a police investigation when Rashford became the victim of racial abuse after they draw 0-0 against Arsenal last Saturday.
Prince William stated, “We all have a pledge to create an environment where such abuse is not tolerated, and people who spread hate and division are accountable for the actions.”
The PFA also called on social networks to manifest they were absolutely engaged in tackling racial situations and says it has been “at crisis point” for a couple of years.
They further made a statement that every effort must be exerted to protect the professional footballers, and also the social media users to stop a racial abuse post when taking advantage of the social media, to which offline upshots must proceed for the online hate crimes.
The Greater Manchester Police told several abusive comments directed at United players had been reported and the authority would be “investigating these crimes thoroughly”.
Rashford, a high-profile campaigner against child food poverty, tweeted the remarks that showed “humanity and social media at its worst.
Humanity and social media at its worst. Yes I’m a black man and I live every day proud that I am. No one, or no one comment, is going to make me feel any different. So sorry if you were looking for a strong reaction, you’re just simply not going to get it here 👊🏾

The last report states that a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Sawyers.
