The security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Lelhar in the Kakapora area of the district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation started on Friday night following a report about the terrorists’ presence in the area, the officials announced.
They declared the search operation rolled into an encounter after the hiding terrorists opened fire.
However, the two terrorists surrendered today in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama after a conflict shattered out in the Lelhar area of the district police announced.
The Kashmir Zone police tweeted that one of the terrorists was injured in the clash and has been hospitalized.
The injured terrorist was identified as Akeel Ahmad Lone, and the other as Rouf Ul Islam, the police declared.
“The Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned the area.
The conflict started after the militants denied appeals of surrender and tossed grenades at the police personnel. We eliminated three terrorists connected to Hizbul Mujahideen,” Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of J &K Police stated.
Consequently. the terrorists surrendered with two AK-47 rifles.
It was not clear which terror group they belonged to.
