Google makes it easier for Android users to connect Bluetooth headphones – Times of India

If you are an Android user then you would know that quite often pairing a Bluetooth device with your phone can be a bit challenging. However, it looks like Google is set to solve that issue with the rollout of a new feature. According to a report by 9to5Google, the tech giant is rolling out the Fast Pair feature on Android to make connectivity with Bluetooth headphones and other devices simpler.
According to a tweet by the official Android account, Google has also partnered with brands like Sony, JBL and others to make it more convenient for Android users. “The new Fast Pair experience on #Android is here. With an updated, easier-to-use layout, see how it makes connecting Bluetooth devices to 100+ devices from partners like @JBLaudio and @SonyElectronics more simple and convenient all with a single tap,” read the tweet.

Apple has always made pairing AirPods easier with iPhone and other Apple devices. Google is working on the same lines. As per the 9to5Google report, whenever a user will set up a Bluetooth accessory for the first time, they will see a big animation of the device. They will see a blue Connect button that will start the one-tap process.
The feature will not only work with headphones but also with smartwatches and fitness bands. The feature had first been spotted with Google’s Pixel Buds but now will be available for other brands as well.
Speaking of Google Pixel, it is widely assumed that the affordable variant of Pixel series — Pixel 5a — will not be launched in India this year. Google in a statement has said that the phone is expected to launch in the US and Japan only. Though Google hasn’t categorically stated if it will launch in India or not, but the global chip shortage could mean there’s no new Pixel phone for India in 2021.
